Testing QCD with inclusive tau decays

Inclusive tau decays are known to be an efficient QCD laboratory. In this talk I will explain how to relate experimental data to QCD predictions. The starting point is the relation between tau-decay data and the imaginary part of different two-point correlation functions. Then we will focus on the theoretical knowledge of these functions and the needed tools to relate it with data. Finally, we will see how one can extract QCD parameters associated to very different energy scales, such as the strong coupling, parameters of the spontaneous chiral simmetry breaking or low energy constants of chPT.
