DESCRIPTION:When considering energies below 1GeV (corresponding to the sca
le of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking)\, perturbative QCD breaks down
\, because the strong coupling constant becomes too large. Therefore other
theoretical approaches need to be found to describe processes in this ene
rgy range\, e.g. Chiral Perturbation Theory (ChPT). I will introduce you t
o this theory's underlying symmetries and applications and explain how it
can be used to make predictions about experimental results yet to come.\n\
