DESCRIPTION:In the 2HDMs\, an ad hoc Z_2 symmetry is typically imposed in 
 order to avoid \nthe flavor problems. We propose to introduce local U(1) H
 iggs flavor symmetry\, \nthat distinguishes one Higgs doublet from the oth
 er. Then the U(1) gauge symmetry \ncould be the origin of the Z_2 symmetry
 . We study phenomenology of this model by taking into account \nvarious th
 eoretical and experimental constraints. We also study 2HDMs with a candida
 te \nfor the dark matter and discuss the stability condition and dark matt
