DESCRIPTION:Progress in experimental particle physics depends crucially on
being able to carry out experiments at high energies and high luminositie
s\, which implies that future experiments will take place in very high rad
iation areas. In order to perform these complex and expensive experiments
new radiation tolerant technologies are being developed. Chemical Vapour D
eposition (CVD) diamond is one for future particle sensors.\n\nAs a detect
or for high radiation environments CVD diamond benefits from its very low
leakage current\, low dielectric constant\, fast signal collection and abi
lity to operate at room temperature. I will present the state-of-the-art i
n diamond sensors and their radiation tolerance. I will give examples of t
heir use in CDF\, the ATLAS Beam Conditions Monitor (BCM) and their planne
d use in an upgrade of ATLAS: the Diamond Beam Monitor (DBM).\n\nhttps://i
