DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Robert Vertesi ()\nIn ultrarelativistic heavy ion co
llisions\, a phase transition\noccurs from hadronic matter into a state of
deconfined\nquarks and gluons. Properties of this new state of\nmatter\,
dubbed as the strongly interacting Quark-Gluon\nPlasma (sQGP)\, have been
a subject of extensive\nmeasurements at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collide
r\n(RHIC) in the past decade. Due to their large masses\,\ncharm and botto
m quarks are dominantly produced in\nhard QCD processes early in the colli
sions and thus\nprovide a unique means of exploring the properties of\nthe
sQGP. Open heavy flavor production is sensitive to\ninteractions with the
medium\, while the production of\ndifferent quarkonium states probe the t
hermal properties\nof the sQGP. Other effects\, such as initial state cold
 \nnuclear matter effects\, production via recombination of\nquark-antiquar
k pairs in the sQGP\, and dissociation in\nhadronic phase\, could also alt
er the expected picture.\nMeasurements of the open heavy flavor and quarko
nium\nproduction in different collision systems and at different\nenergies
are therefore crucial for disentangling relative\ncontributions from thes
e effects.\n\nIn this talk we report recent STAR heavy flavor results\nat
 $\\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=200 GeV in p+p and d+Au collisions\,\n$\\sqrt{s_{NN}}$=20
 0 GeV\, 62.4 and 39 GeV in Au+Au\ncollisions\, as well as $\\sqrt{s_{NN}}$
=193 GeV in U+U\ncollisions. The latter provides the highest energy densit
y\nat RHIC. Measurements of open heavy flavor hadrons\nthrough both hadron
 ic and semi-leptonic channels\, and\nthose of $J/\\psi$ and $\\upsilon$ st
ates will be presented\nand compared to theoretical calculations. The futu
re\nprospect of the heavy flavor program at STAR in light\nof recent detec
tor upgrades will also be discussed.\n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es/event/20
