 lectromagnetic fields surrounding the protons and heavy\nnuclei accelerate
 d at the CERN Large Hadron Collider may be used to\nstudy two-photon and p
 hoton-proton/nucleus interactions at\nunprecedented energies. A process of
  particular interest is two-photon\nproduction of pairs of W bosons.  This
  process is sensitive to the\ncoupling between photons and W bosons\, and 
 may therefore be used to\nprobe in particular any anomalous quartic WWgamm
 agamma coupling. The\nexperimental feasibility of studying this process ha
 s recently been\nshown by the CMS experiment.\n\nIn this presentation\, we
  calculate the expected standard model cross\nsection for this process. Th
 e strong absorption is treated in a\nrealistic way to properly exclude int
 eraction where the projectiles\ninteract hadronically. In addition\, the p
 olarization of the W and how\nit affects the angular distribution of its d
 ecay products is\ninvestigated. These two effects have to our knowledge no
 t been\nconsidered in previous calculations. They are found to be essentia
 l\nfor the calculation of the production cross section and for the\nexpect
 ed yield within an experimentally accessible phase space region.\n\nhttps:
