DESCRIPTION:SCET is an effective field theory designed for describing proc
 esses involving collimated jets. The non-local nature of SCET makes it har
 der than usual EFT's. It was originally applied to B-decays in the endpoin
 t\, but lately it has been successfully applied to collider physics. In pa
 rticular one can use it to make high-order resummation of singular partoni
 c logarithms and to identify power corrections. In this seminar I aim to c
 over the basics of the SCET the formalism\, and how factorization is achie
 ved. Depending on time\, I will discuss how to proof factorization for a c
 lass of event shapes and the structure of power corrections.\n\nhttps://in
