DESCRIPTION:In the first part of the talk\, I will review one of the most 
 distinctive signatures of dark matter: the annual modulation that should b
 e detected in direct detection experiments\, due to the relative motion of
  the Earth around the Sun.\nIn the second part\, I will focus on (almost a
 strophysics independent) bounds that can be placed on the annual modulatio
 n in terms of the unmodulated event rate and show the results when we appl
 y them to DAMA and CoGENT [JCAP03(2012)005\, 1112.1627 [hep-ph]. Finally I
  will show how the unmodulated rate of one experiment can bound the annual
  modulation seen in another experiment and show the results [PRL\, 1205.01
