DESCRIPTION:An important application of the conceptual framework is the po
ssibility of employing the Franck-Condon principle of molecular physics to
study decays of quarkonium above open-flavor threshold. Since the velocit
y of the decay mesons tracks the velocity of the initial state quarks\, th
e pattern of decays is a window to the structure of the parent hadron. Thi
s is illustrated by recent Belle data on the Upsilon(5s). Another applicat
ion is our suggestion of employing the excited baryon spectrum (particular
ly maximum-J Delta resonances) to learn about the running of the quark mas
s through the mid-momentum regime. This is accomplished thanks to the inse
nsitivity to chiral symmetry breaking high in the spectrum: QCD can have a
t the same time chiral symmetry realized in Goldstone mode (low-lying spec
trum) and Wigner mode (high spectrum) and the transition between both depe
nds on how fast the effective quark mass falls with momentum.\n\nhttps://i
