SUMMARY:Run 2b CDF upgrade of the Silicon Vertex and Layer 00 detectors

DESCRIPTION:After about 2 ${\\rm fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity the CD
 F silicon vertex detector (SVX IIa) will need to be replaced as a result o
 f radiation damage. We here review our plans for the CDF Run 2b silicon sy
 stem\, and expectations of its performance. With an accumulation of as lit
 tle as 0.5 ${\\rm fb}^{-1}$ of data we expect to understand much better th
 e longevity of the Run 2a components as well as the physics capabilities o
 f the Run 2a detector performance\, and therefore greatly refine our plans
