DESCRIPTION:The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope (GLAST) exploits part
 icle physics detector technology to study gamma-rays from tens of MeVs to 
 hundreds of GeVs originating in the cosmos. The detector consists of a pre
 -shower tracker (to measure pair conversion electrons) followed by a calor
 imeter. GLAST will locate sources with arc-minute precision over 2.5 stera
