DESCRIPTION:The Hierarchy Problem could be solved within a fundamental (4+
n)-dimensional theory\, if the typical scale where gravity and gauge inter
actions unify is at the TeV-scale. The preferred framework for this scenar
io is Type I String Theory\, where the string scale could be lowered to th
e TeV if the compactified manifold is sufficiently large. Kaluza-Klein (KK
) excitations of the graviton are expected\, whereas no KK modes for the g
auge bosons arise if the gauge group is tied to a D3-brane. In this scenar
io\, typical signatures such as direct production of KK modes of the gravi
ton at high-energy colliders could test the size of the compactified dimen
sions. However\, in the general case of anisotropic compactification\, Win
ding Modes of the Standard Model gauge bosons could also be directly obser
vable\, thus further constraining the model."\n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es
