DESCRIPTION:Many interesting aspects of the Early Universe involve physics
out of thermal equilibrium\, which cannot be studied reliably in the fram
ework of thermal perturbation theory. After reviewing the shortcomings of
the perturbative approach\, we describe the use of the Wilson Renormalizat
ion Group at finite temperature and its application in the cosmological co
ntext. In particular we will discuss thermal masses\, damping rates\, phas
e transitions\, and the anomalous baryon number violation above the electr
 oweak phase transition.\n\nhttps://indico.ific.uv.es/event/1075/
